Tata Power Renewable Energy signs 28.12 MW AC solar offtake agreement with Sanyo Special Steel

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), through its arm TP Alpha, has signed a power delivery agreement (PDA) with Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India for a 28.125 MW AC (39.375 MW DC) captive solar plant. 

TP Alpha will establish the PV plant at Aachegaon in the Solapur district of Maharashtra. The project will be commissioned by March 2024. Once commissioned, it is projected to produce 61.875 million units (MUs) of electricity per year and supply to the steel manufacturing unit of Sanyo Special Steel within the state.

With the latest addition, TPREL’s total renewables capacity has reached 7,815 MW, including 3,683 MW under various stages of implementation and 4,132 MW of operating capacity (3,139 MW solar and 993 MW wind).
