Birla Carbon, a manufacturer of carbon black solutions, has announced it will present a range of products for lithium-ion and lead-acid battery applications at The Battery Show Europe 2021 to be held in Germany. The show will take place from November 30 – December 2, 2021 at Messe Stuttgart.

Following its recent entry into the energy systems market, Birla Carbon is launching conductive carbon solutions under its Conductex i and Conductex e series, along with the forthcoming array of carbon-based solutions for the battery industry.

Birla Carbon is aiming to expand its geographic presence in Europe and globally with the launch of its solutions at the The Battery Show Europe 2021.

Birla Carbon’s new portfolio of conductive carbons enable customization in formulation and performance in a variety of battery storage applications, including automotive, telecoms, motive power, energy storage systems, and e-bikes. These products leverage Birla Carbon’s Ultra process to ensure high levels of purity and conductivity, enabling increased charge acceptance, particularly under partial state-of-charge operation.

John Davidson, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Birla Carbon, said, “Birla Carbon has designed a new portfolio of conductive carbons for the lithium ion and lead acid battery markets that provide 5-15% energy savings. The Battery Show Europe is a forum where the energy storage market leaders come together, and we would like to share our solutions with them.”

He further added, “Our participation signifies our commitment to the market, and the solutions we present are our way of sharing the strength. We are proud to continue this journey through sustainability and circularity, offering clean energy solutions for the battery market with our highly engineered conductive carbon additives.”

Dr. Ann Schoeb, Chief R&D Officer, and Business Head, Energy Systems, Birla Carbon, said, “Birla Carbon’s entry into the battery market indicates our ambitions for growth as the demand for materials to support electric vehicles and other energy storage requirements escalates rapidly. We aim to constantly bring innovative products to the market and develop them to support our customers’ needs. With Conductex i and Conductex e product portfolio, Birla Carbon is enhancing the contribution of carbons in advanced battery applications.”
