NTPC tenders 1.2 GW solar EPC work in Karnataka

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of state-owned power producer NTPC, has tendered the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package with land for the development of an aggregate 1.2 GW of the interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected solar PV projects in Karnataka. The projects will be located near Gadag and Koppal districts.

Installers can bid for any capacity from 50 MW to 600 MW (Koppal and Gadag combined). The individual project size shall be a minimum of 50 MW or higher in multiples of 10 MW. 

The projects are tendered under the Open category, allowing the use of solar cells and modules of any origin.

The scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning of grid-connected solar projects, along with three years of comprehensive operation and maintenance of the complete PV plant post-commissioning. It also includes identification, acquisition, and complete transfer of ownership/lease of encumbrance-free land in favor of NTPC RE Ltd. Identifying and arranging grid connectivity at the proposed ISTS substation at Gadag and Koppal in Karnataka also falls under the installer’s scope.
