Waaree Energies hits 22.3 GW global solar module capacity

Waaree Energies has achieved an aggregate solar module manufacturing capacity of around 22.3 GW globally, comprising 19.7 GW in India and 2.6 GW in the United States, following a recent 1.5 GW expansion at its Samakhiali facility in Kutch, Gujarat. In addition, Waaree’s solar cell manufacturing capacity remains at 5.4 GW, making it one of the largest cell production platforms in India.

The latest 1.5 GW expansion builds on the company’s recent commissioning of 1.5 GW across two high-efficiency module lines of 750 MW each at the same Samakhiali location. With this addition, the Samakhiali facility’s total annual manufacturing capacity has reached 3 GW. The site is now one of Waaree’s most advanced manufacturing hubs, featuring next-generation automation, stringent quality controls, and integrated testing systems designed to meet growing domestic and global demand for high-performance solar modules.

Sunil Rathi, Executive Director, Waaree Energies Limted said, “The expansion of our Samakhiali facility to 3 GW marks another milestone in Waaree’s purposeful capacity build-out. This positions us to serve strategic markets more effectively while advancing our vision of delivering reliable, locally manufactured solar technologies at scale.”

Waaree offers a comprehensive suite of clean energy products that extend beyond modules and cells to include inverters, battery storage systems, green hydrogen solutions, and EPC services.
