NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the development of a grid-connected 56 MW floating solar photovoltaic (PV) project, integrated with a 60 MW/240 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), on a turnkey basis at its North Karanpura Thermal Power Station.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, supply, packaging and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the floating solar PV system and associated BESS.

The battery storage system, including the batteries, must be designed for a lifespan of 15 years, assuming a daily single cycle of operation, starting from the successful completion of the trial run.

The selected contractor will also be responsible for the comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of the BESS for 15 years from the successful completion of the trial run, as well as O&M of the floating solar plant and power evacuation system for five years from the date of commissioning.
