Waaree Energies to supply 445 MW of bifacial solar modules to Statkraft India

Waaree Energies Ltd, India’s largest solar PV module manufacturer, announced this week that it has secured the contract to supply 445 MW of its bifacial modules to Statkraft India’s single-location PV projects in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

Waaree will supply its 540/545Wp dual-glass bifacial modules. The modules are scheduled for delivery between May and August 2024.

Waaree Energies Ltd, founded in 1990, is India’s largest manufacturer of solar PV modules with an aggregate installed capacity of 12 GW, as of June 30, 2023 (Source: CRISIL Report). Having commenced operations in 2007 focusing on solar PV module manufacturing, it now has four solar module manufacturing facilities in India and an international presence.

Statkraft, Norwegian hydropower giant and one of Europe’s leading renewable energy generators, produces hydropower, wind power, solar power, gas-fired power and supplies district heating. It has more than 6,000 employees in over 20 countries. Statkraft has been present in India since 2004 and the company now owns a production capacity of 215 MW with an annual generation of around 1,310 GWh.
