SJVN launches 1.2 GW renewables-plus-storage tender

SJVN has invited bids from renewable energy developers to supply 600 MW of firm and dispatchable power from RE projects with energy storage system, with greenshoe option of additional capacity up to 600 MW. The winning developers will set up renewable energy projects backed with energy storage system to supply firm and dispatchable renewable energy. The projects are to be developed on a build-own-operate basis.

The projects can be located anywhere in India and must connect to the interstate transmission system (ISTS). For a single project, the RE generation components, along with the energy storage system, may either be co-located or located at different places. The different components, i.e., solar, wind and any other source or storage, can be connected with the ISTS network at different ISTS sub- stations.

SJVN will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders. Power procured by SJVN from these projects has been provisioned to be sold to the different buying entities of India.

A single developer can bid for 50 MW to 600 MW quantum of power, in multiples of 10 MW. The total cumulative capacity of power to be awarded will be 600 MW. SJVN may award an additional capacity up to 600 MW under greenshoe option.
