Sunsure Energy, a C&I renewable energy solutions provider, today announced the appointment of industry veterans Manoj Kohli and Mahesh Makhija to its Board of Directors.

While Kohli brings an extensive experience spanning 45 years in diverse global markets, Makhija has over two decades of expertise in the renewable energy sector. They join Inderpreet Wadhwa (founder of Azure Power), who was appointed to the Board in December 2022.

Manoj Kohli served as the country head of SoftBank India till January 2023, overseeing a $15 billion investment in 25 tech-focused portfolio companies. Prior to this, he was the managing director and CEO of Bharti Airtel, leading its transformation into the third-largest global telco with a unique business model and extensive operations. Kohli also led SB Energy, which has over 5 GW of renewable energy capacity.

Mahesh Makhija held key roles at Apraava Energy (formerly known as CLP India) and a successful tenure in the consulting industry with Arthur Andersen, where he advised clients across various sectors, including pharmaceutical, chemical, shipping, and media.

“Their combined expertise in scaling businesses and driving innovation will be invaluable as Sunsure embarks on its next phase of growth, focusing on developing and installing renewable power plants across India and furthering its commitment to sustainable energy solutions for customers,” stated Sunsure Energy.

Founded in 2015, Sunsure has developed and installed solar power plants for power-intensive industrial customers across 16 Indian states.
