Sofar, a China-based inverter and battery manufacturer, has signed a contract with India’s Velan Infra to supply its 255KTL-HV utility string inverters for 100 MW of solar plants in Tamil Nadu.

Velan Infra is engaged in setting up solar power projects across India. The entire 100 MW project is expected to be commissioned by November 2023.

Sofar’s 255KTL-HV inverter is designed for utility-scale solar. It features 12 maximum power point tracking (MPPT) points with an efficiency of up to 99.02%. Its IP66 and C5 protection ensures stable operation even under varying weather conditions. The inverter also features an AC/DC dual power supply design, 24/7 monitoring, and I-V curve scanning for real-time updates on the system performance.

Sofar’s inverter shipments to India have surpassed 2 GW as of June 30, 2023.
