Share

A total of 104 quantities are required of 16-string combiner boxes designed for a maximum 20 A current per string (fuse and fuse link rating shall be rated for minimum 30A) and string voltage of 1500V.

The devices should be rated for at least IP65 (mated) degree of protection, and all the components in the combiner boxes shall be designed for operation within a temperature range of 0-70 degrees Celsius.

BHEL will supply the mounting structure for the installation of the combiner boxes onto the module mounting structures.

To be eligible, the bidder should be an original equipment manufacturer and should have supplied a minimum of 100 string monitor boxes (1500V grade, 16-in (minimum)/1-out) with wireless communication for solar power plants in India during the last three years. Foreign vendors are not allowed.

Installation and commissioning

BHEL’s work scope includes movement and erection of string monitoring combiner boxes at the respective places in the solar array field, including executing all necessary civil works and erection of mounting structures.

Laying of power cables (provided by BHEL) from string monitoring boxes to the PCUs in the control room also falls under its scope.

The string monitor box vendor shall configure the controllers of individual string monitoring boxes with details such as ID/address, wireless transmitter and receiver configuration, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) interface settings, etc.
