Greenko, the Hyderabad-based clean energy firm, and Hero future Energies, a New Delhi-based green energy power producer, are in talks with AT capital group to acquire its Orange Renewables portfolio, the Livemint has reported.

Orange Renewables is a unit of AT Holdings Pte Ltd, and it owns one of the India’s largest renewable energy platforms with an operational capacity of 758 MW, out of which 567 MW of wind projects and 191 MW of solar plants are derived.

It was also reported that earlier that discussions were held with ReNew Power but no final agreement was reached, after which Greenko group and Hero future energies expressed their interest in the portfolio.

Both Greenko and Hero future energies have ambitious plans in the Indian green space and are expanding given the scope of the sector, particularly the ambition of India’s solar industry, which has been set a competitive target of 100 GW of capacity addition by 2022.
