This is Apraava’s third transmission project win within the last 12 months. The project involves setting up 40 km of 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines and a 3,000 MVA substation.

The project will help in the evacuation of 1.5 GW of renewable energy from the Koppal area of Karnataka.

The projects are part of the evacuation scheme for 20 GW of renewable energy generation in Rajasthan to the national grid.

Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd has launched a tender to select developers for 1.5 GW of firm and dispatchable power from renewable power projects with energy storage systems. Bidding closes on September 15.

Mahindra Susten has switched on 175 MW (AC) of its 250 MW solar project in Bikaner district, Rajasthan. The massive installation, which uses bifacial modules, will supply electricity to Solar Energy Corp. of India over a period of 25 years at a price of INR 2.54 ($0.03)/kWh.

Domestic bids are invited for the engineering, procurement and construction of 75MW of ISTS connected solar power projects anywhere in India for sale of energy through power exchange. Bidding closes on May 18.

Lobby group the National Solar Energy Federation of India says around 4 GW of solar plant capacity is likely to be affected by component shortages after the outbreak of the virus in China.

The projects—to be established on a build, own, operate basis—will be awarded through e-bidding and a reverse auction with a tariff ceiling of Rs 2.78 per kWh. Bidding closes on March 19.

Developers will be spared interstate transmission system charges if their projects are secured through public capacity auctions held to enable electricity distribution companies to achieve their renewable purchase obligations, and provided the facilities are commissioned before 2023.

A report by Indian ratings agency CRISIL points to a rising rate of tender failures, an inconsistent policy approach from central and state governments and restrictive solar energy tariff caps and says India could have just 104 GW of renewables capacity by 2022.
