Noida Authority has selected Energy Efficiency Services Limited to deploy public charging stations under the second phase of the FAME India Scheme. A total of 162 public EV charging stations comprising 108 122kW fast chargers and 54 Bharat DC001 (15kW) are to be installed in the city.

The near-term outlook for electric vehicles (EVs) remains bleak owing to supply and demand headwinds coupled with the expectation of sluggish investment to scale up the support ecosystem.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited, which has already bagged orders for 800 MW of distributed solar installations in Maharashtra and 113 MW in Rajasthan, says it will roll out 1.5 GW of generation facilities by the end of the next fiscal year.

BHEL’s scope of work includes complete engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) solutions from concept to commissioning of EV charging stations. EESL, on the other hand, will make the entire upfront investment on services, along with the operation and maintenance of the infrastructure.

Energy Efficiency Services Ltd, under the Ministry of Power, intends to procure an aggregate 100 MWp quantity of solar modules rated 325 Wp or above for the state of Maharashtra. Bidding closes on December 27.

The investment—part of a $592 million assistance package—will be used to promote adoption of smart meters, distributed solar photovoltaic systems and e-vehicles in India.

The electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure will come up in South Delhi Municipal Corporation area over a 10-year period, starting with installation in 18 locations within 6 months from the effective date.

Under the MoU, Energy Efficiency Services Ltd will make the investment on services along with the operation and maintenance of the public charging infrastructure, while the telecom operator would provide the space and power connections.

These LED streetlights—installed under the world’s largest streetlight replacement programme being implemented by state-owned Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL)—have helped the country to reduce its greenhouse gas emission by 4.63 million tonnes annually.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited will provide the funding with authorities in the planned city offering up sites and electricity connections under an agreement announced yesterday.
