EESL tenders 100 MW solar in 3 states, plans 200 MW rooftop in Maharashtra
India’s Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) has invited bids from domestic and international players for setting up of small grid-interactive solar plants ranging from 500 KW to 2 MW at lands of state-owned utilities. The cumulative capacity, to be installed in turnkey mode, is 40 MW for Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh each and 20 MW for Jharkhand. The state-run energy service company is also mulling to install an aggregate 200 MW of grid-connected solar rooftop across 5,000 state-owned buildings in Maharashtra.
BHEL will set up solar EV chargers along highway
Government-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited will set up a network of solar-based electric vehicle chargers along the entire 250 km stretch of road between Delhi and Chandigarh, allaying range anxiety among EV users.

The project will improve stability on Canada’s largest transmission grid by managing unbalanced supply-demand situations. Similarly, Indian PSUs owned EESL, through EPAL, will also be a part of $175 million investment in clean energy initiatives in the UK’s public and private sectors.
Global Environment Facility along with ADB will provide $454 million funding to EESL clean energy projects
Energy Efficiency Services Limited EESL’s projects, under one of the largest funding by Global Environment Facility (GEF) to date, will mitigate 60 million tons of CO2 emissions. UN Environment’s ‘District Energy in Cities’ initiative already identified $600 million of energy efficiency projects across five cities in India.
EESL to install 300 MW of domestically produced PV modules
