NLC has signed a long-term power usage agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (RUVNL). Under the agreement, it will supply power from its 300 MW PV plant for the next 25 years.

The state-run hydropower producer is developing a 1 GW solar project in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The total project outlay is around INR 5,500 crore ($661.61 million).

Adani Green Energy Ltd has operationalized 2.14 GW of solar-wind hybrid projects in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, which collectively use 5.8 million solar modules of 535 Wp each and 353 wind-turbine generators.  

Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd has allocated 600 MW in its 1.2 GW solar-with-storage tender. The lowest discovered tariff was INR 6.68 ($0.081)/kWh.

The projects are part of the evacuation scheme for 20 GW of renewable energy generation in Rajasthan to the national grid.

The nation installed a cumulative solar power capacity of 70.10 GW as of June 30, 2023. Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Karnataka together account for more than 50% of the overall PV installations.   

Israel’s Airtouch Solar will supply and install its water-free panel cleaning robots for Amplus Solar’s PV project in Rajasthan. It will also provide comprehensive maintenance services for the robots for 25 years.

The Rajasthan-based solar module manufacturer is setting up a 600 MW PV cell production facility. It is also expanding its panel production capacity to 1.2 GW from the current 700 MW.

The rooftop solar project, implemented under the RESCO model, will meet 15% of IIT Jodhpur’s electricity requirements.

Arctech has signed tracker supply deals with Sterling & Wilson and Torrent Power for solar projects in Rajasthan and Gujarat, respectively.
