Apple partners CleanMax to build 150 MW of renewable energy capacity for captive consumption in India

Apple is expanding its renewable energy investments in India in collaboration with CleanMax, India’s largest renewable energy solutions provider for the commercial and industrial sector.

Apple will initially invest INR 100 crore to support the development of more than 150 MW of new renewable energy capacity — enough to power around 150,000 Indian households annually — with the potential for further expansion in the coming years. The partnership is aimed at scaling renewable energy consumption across Apple’s supply chain in India.

Apple previously worked with CleanMax on a portfolio of rooftop solar projects to help power Apple’s offices and retail stores in India with 100 percent renewable energy.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Apple yet again. At CleanMax, we see ourselves as a long-term net-zero partner to corporates, and we are proud to continue working with a company like Apple that continues to push the ecosystem to think bigger, move faster, and build more responsibly,” said Kuldeep Jain, managing director and founder, CleanMax.
