ReNew Energy Global (ReNew) has commissioned 2.4 GW of renewable energy capacity in FY2026, marking its highest-ever annual addition. The company’s total operating capacity has reached 12.6 GW, after adjusting for 600 MW of assets sold during FY 2026.
The newly commissioned capacity includes 1.75 GW of solar, 0.62 GW of wind, along with 25 MW/100MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The company also has a fully constructed capacity of approximately 450 MW, which is likely to be commissioned soon. ReNew’s gross portfolio as of March 31, 2026 stands at 20 GW (including 1.7 GW of BESS).
ReNew operates in both the utility and C&I segment. Its C&I arm, ReNew Green, has 2.5 GW of committed capacity, of which over 2 GW is already commissioned. ReNew Green’s C&I customers include global technology leaders such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. In March 2026, it raised $95 million equity investment from a consortium led by Leapfrog Investments.
Additionally, the company has 6.5 GW of operating solar module manufacturing capacity and 2.5 GW of operating cell capacity, which is currently being expanded by another 4 GW by December 2026. During FY2026, ReNew’s solar manufacturing facilities produced more than 4.1 GW of modules and 1.86 GW of cells. Earlier during the year, the solar manufacturing business received $100 million equity investment from British International Investments.
