NTPC invites EOI for compressed-air energy storage projects

Share

NTPC has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from technology providers, developers, system integrators, and solution providers for the development of pilot or utility-scale projects for compressed air energy storage, including liquid air energy storage and other advanced compressed air-based long-duration energy storage systems.

The EOI targets storage technologies capable of 8 hours or more of energy storage. The compression of air may be achieved using conventional compressors or other compression systems.

The objective is to evaluate the current market landscape, technology readiness, technical performance, and operational characteristics of the technologies, and to assess their suitability and techno-commercial viability for pilot/utility-scale plant implementation under Indian grid and site conditions.

Interested applicants shall submit technical data and information, guaranteed performance parameters, the total estimated project cost, and details of the proposed financial contribution to be shared by themselves, NTPC, and any other stakeholders, along with other information.
