The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued its second Call for Proposals under the scheme titled “Funding of Testing Facilities, Infrastructure, and Institutional Support for Development of Standards and Regulatory Framework under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.”
This initiative aims to support development and upgradation of testing infrastructure for the various components, technologies and processes used in the production, storage, transport, and utilization of green hydrogen and its derivatives, ensuring high standards, safety, and quality across the entire value chain. The scheme is also intended to support technology mapping and information dissemination on quality and performance of systems, components and processes under GH2 ecosystem.
Proposal can be submitted by any government organizations (testing agencies, R&D institutes, academic institutions, public-sector units, autonomous bodies, etc) intending to set up or upgrade their existing hydrogen testing or certification facility in India. Consortia of government and private are also encouraged to apply. The government partner may be funded up to 100% of the capital cost for equipment, installation, and commissioning of the equipment, while the private partner is expected to contribute financially and technically, including infrastructure and in-kind support.
The first round of proposals under this scheme were invited during August 2024. Based on the detailed scrutiny and approval of the competent authority, five proposals have been supported under the Scheme as part of the first round.
