NTPC Green Energy wins 80 MW/320 MWh battery storage project in Kerala

NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) secured a cumulative capacity of 80 MW/320 MWh in NHPC’s auction for the development of 125 MW/500 MWh intrastate transmission system (InSTS)-connected standalone BESS projects in Kerala. The company emerged as the winning bidder in the e-reverse auction conducted by NHPC Ltd.

NGEL won two key projects:

  • 40 MW/160 MWh at Pothencode Substation with a quoted tariff of INR 4,57,000/MW/month

  • 40 MW/160 MWh at Sreekantapuram Substation with a tariff of INR 4,34,000/MW/month

Meanwhile, Opera Energy secured 15 MW/60 MWh at a tariff of INR 4,38,000/MW/month.
