SJVN has invited bids from solar power developer to set up 1.5 GW of interstate transmission grid (ISTS) connected PV power projects on a build-own-operate basis anywhere in India.
SJVN will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders. Power procured by SJVN from these projects has been provisioned to be sold to the different buying entities of India.
A developer can bid for a cumulative contracted capacity of 50 MW to 750 MW, in multiples of 10 GW. However, for projects located in North-Eastern states and special category states, the minimum project capacity that can be offered by a bidder will be 30 MW. The total cumulative project capacity to be awarded under this RfS will be 1.5 GW.
A bidder can offer projects at multiple locations, provided each project has a minimum capacity of 50 MW.
“The solar projects already under construction or yet to be commissioned or commissioned but selling solar power on short-term merchant basis may also be considered for the selection under this tender subject to the condition that these projects have not been accepted under any State or Central Scheme and also do not have obligation to sell the power to any beneficiaries. In such case they will be given the benefit for a longer period of PPA commensurate to the duration between the actual date of commencement of power supply and the scheduled commencement of supply date,” read the tender document.
