Mumbai-based Waaree Energies has announced the completion of 50 MW solar module delivery for a project by a USA-based developer and Fortune 500 company.

The project shall install Waaree’s high-efficiency 380Wp and 385Wp mono PERC solar modules. The renewable power generated by the project will be sold through a power purchase agreement in the USA.

Waaree claims to have already supplied around 3 GW of solar panels globally and commissioned over 600 MW of solar EPC projects in India and Southeast Asia.

The manufacturer has a 2 GW state-of-the-art solar module manufacturing facility in India, which it claims to be the largest in the country.

It recently signed an MoU with the Gujarat government to set up Rs 11 billion solar modules and cells manufacturing plant in the state. Coming up at Moda village in Valsad district, the latest plant will add to the manufacturer’s two solar modules manufacturing plants of 2 GW capacity in Surat and Umargam of the state.

Speaking about the USA contract, Sunil Rathi, Director-Sales and Marketing, Waaree Energies, said, “This order had to be delivered to the USA, on time despite the pandemic outbreak. Our team at Waaree had worked seamlessly to make deliveries on time and gained large customers’ confidence.”

“We are expanding our capacities and are equipped for much bigger association globally.”
