ACME Cleantech ventured into li-ion battery production in 2014, and currently has a production capacity of 350 MWh per annum. Arvind Singhatiya, Executive Vice President Public Policy, Electric Vehicles, ACME Cleantech told pv magazine: “We are planning to increase annual manufacturing capacity of 2-3 GWh by 2020.”
The firm’s manufacturing facility is in Rudrapur, located in the Udham Singh Nagar district in the state of Uttarakhand, approximately 250 km from Delhi. Singhatiya mentioned that ACME is India’s only manufacturer of li-ion batteries, and the company has a fully integrated manufacturing facility spread over 28 acres.
The Gurugram-based clean energy company is providing several other energy solutions. The firm developed Ecogrid – high energy-density power backup solution – for residential, commercial & industrial segments, grid-scale storage, energy storage system, and is providing energy management solutions, including thermal, charging, and cell balancing control features.
ACME produces a lithium-ion battery pack that is 48V/86Ah, and labeled a ‘Next Generation Battery.’ The battery pack is manufactured to serve electric transportation across India, with the concept of charging plus swapping battery stations.

“ACME is in the group of top global solar power developers, and currently we are one of the leading names in the clean transport solutions by designing ‘Swap cum Charging stations’ for lithium-ion Battery packs,” Singhatiya said.
The company began designing the charging plus swapping battery station in 2016. In 2017, ACME supplied its first system to OLA, an online transportation company in India, for a pilot e-mobility project in the city of Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Recently, in January 2018, ACME bagged a design award at this year’s Energy Storage India 2018 in the Energy Storage Project of the Year category for Electric Vehicles (EV).
ACME has claimed that its li-ion battery pack can be fully charged within one hour and can be swapped with a charged battery in less than three minutes. It also reveals that the battery packs for EVs have all the essential, sustainable features – longer life, maintenance free, higher efficiency, lower weight, and are environmentally friendly.
