Having acquired a 37.5% stake in March, Yinson has now agreed to buy an additional 57.5% equity interest in Indian independent power producer Rising Sun Energy (RSE) with a cumulative operational capacity of 140 MW (AC) in the Bhadla Solar Park.

Single developers can bid for any quantity from 10 MW up to whole of the tendered capacity (1070 MW). The projects—to be set up on ‘build-own-operate’ basis—can be located anywhere in the State. August 31 is the deadline for bid submission.

The renewable energy developer—which owns and operates 172 MW of wind capacity in India—has claimed its first solar tender win in the country with a SECI award for 300 MW power.

The Spanish developer, which will sell solar energy at an Indian record low tariff of Rs2.36/kWh under a 25-year deal has spoken to pv magazine about the specifics of the landmark PV plant.

Tariff ceiling is fixed at Rs 3.20/kWh for the ground-mounted projects that are to be set up on build-own-operate basis. July 24 is the last date to bid.

The developer wants to cancel the power purchase agreement it signed in 2018 for a 600 MW project awarded at a tariff of Rs2.44/kWh, as it fears Covid-19-affected commissioning of the project will stretch beyond the six-month extension from the scheduled date enshrined in the agreement.
