Ceiling tariff is revised to Rs 3.30 per unit for distributed solar projects that shall come up across 30 districts for giving day time power to agricultural consumers in the state. Individual project size is limited to 2-10 MW. Bidding closes on January 29.

As part of the transaction, both the parties have agreed to ensure that over 30% of the electricity supplied by Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd will come from solar and wind power plants by the year 2023.

Touted to be one of India’s largest rooftop installations, the captive plant uses 25,770 photovoltaic panels covering 63,000 sq.m of available roof space and producing 12.2 million KWh of electricity annually.

Developers have until December 30 to bid for the grid-connected plants that shall come up on the land within or around the premises of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s substations. The plants are to be developed on turnkey basis.

The solar plants commissioned at Dibrugarh (Assam), Gaya (Bihar) and Gondia (Maharashtra) take the Kolkata based module manufacturer and EPC contractor’s cumulative airport project portfolio to more than 4 MW.

The 923 MW grid-connected solar capacity—tendered under Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme—is to be developed using only domestically manufactured solar cells and modules. Whereas, modules for the 500 MW project in Maharashtra can be procured from either domestic manufacturers, or imported.

Energy Efficiency Services Ltd, under the Ministry of Power, intends to procure an aggregate 100 MWp quantity of solar modules rated 325 Wp or above for the state of Maharashtra. Bidding closes on December 27.

These systems—to be deployed in Aurangabad, Nashik and Pune—will have provision for mobile charging, transfer of automated meter reading and water discharge reading data.

The recently proposed guidelines allow electricity cost reduction of only Rs 3.64/unit for commercial and industrial consumers, which is not even sufficient to recover the capital costs of setting up the solar infrastructure.
