Oriana Power Ltd has won an EPC tender for a 234 MW grid-tied floating solar PV power project in Jharkhand. It secured the project through a competitive tender process floated by Damodar Valley Corp.
The project, located at the Maithon Dam Reservoir in Jharkhand, is the largest floating solar project in the state, and one of the largest floating solar installations in the country.
The scope of work design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the floating solar PV plant, along with comprehensive operation and maintenance for ten years.
The total price of the contract (comprising three individual contracts for the supply of plant and equipment, EPC services, and long-term operation and maintenance) is INR 1,180.53 crore.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 18 months.
Once operational, the project is expected to generate around 500 million units of clean electricity annually and offset up to 4 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
