Hindustan Power secured nearly 1 GW of solar capacity and over 750 MWh of energy storage projects in 2025, significantly strengthening its renewable energy portfolio as it targets 5 GW portfolio by 2028.

Led by Chairman Ratul Puri, the company has bagged projects across multiple states, spanning standalone solar plants as well as integrated solutions combining solar PV with battery energy storage systems (BESS).

A key highlight is the signing of a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corp. Ltd (UPPCL) for a 435 MWp solar project, one of the largest additions to Hindustan Power’s portfolio this year.

Further, the company secured an interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected project from SJVN Ltd, involving the installation of 200 MWp of solar capacity paired with over 250 MWh of battery storage.

In Bihar, Hindustan Power signed a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) with Bihar State Power Generation Co. Ltd for a 120 MWh standalone battery storage project. Spread across three substations, the project will be developed under a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) model, supporting grid reliability in the state.

Most recently, the company won another ISTS-connected project from SECI, securing 150 MW of contracted capacity. This project will require the deployment of around 300 MWp of solar generation along with 360 MWh of battery storage.
