NTPC REL wins SECI auction for 70,000 MT/year green ammonia supply

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), has emerged as the successful bidder in the e-reverse auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) on August 4, 2025 for the full capacity of 70,000 metric tonnes per annum (MT/Year) of green ammonia. It secured this capacity at a price of INR 51.80 per kg.

This capacity is part of SECI’s larger tender for a total of 7.24 lakh MT/Year of green ammonia, spread across 13 locations in India. The e-reverse auction was conducted for supply of 70,000 MT/Year of green ammonia to Krishana Phoschem Ltd, located in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh.
