Gujarat invites bids for 4 GWh battery storage projects

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) has invited bids to set up 2 GW/4 GWh of standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Gujarat, connected to the intra-state transmission system (In-STS), with a two-cycle daily charge/discharge operation.

The selected developers will set up the BESS projects on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, with the primary objective of providing energy storage facilities to GUVNL for meeting the State DISCOMs’ ‘on-demand’ energy requirements during peak and off-peak hours.

Successful bidders will enter into a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) with GUVNL.
