Waaree Solar Americas, the US arm of Waaree Energies, has secured an order for supply of 599 MW solar modules. The company stated that the order has been placed by a renowned developer and owner-operator of utility scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States.
The supply of modules is scheduled to take place in the calendar year 2026.
The latest win follows a recent 586 MW solar module order won by the company.
Waaree Solar Americas Inc. recently announced the expansion of its solar module manufacturing facility in Brookshire, Texas. The facility currently operates at 1.6 GW capacity and will be expanded to 3.2 GW.
In a separate achievement, Waaree Energies has been named the Overall Highest Achiever in the 2025 PV Module Index Report by the Renewable Energy Test Center (RETC), making it the only Indian solar panel manufacturer to receive this global distinction. This marks the second consecutive year the company has earned this honor.
The RETC PV Module Index Report is one of the solar industry’s most rigorous benchmarking frameworks, designed to help stakeholders evaluate and select solar products based on real-world performance under stress. Solar modules are subjected to a wide range of accelerated stress tests to assess their performance, quality, and long-term durability. Through comparative test results, project developers and EPC players can identify the most suitable modules for specific environments, geographies, and energy portfolios.
RETC analyzed overall data distributions across three critical disciplines — quality, performance, and reliability — ranking top performers based on consistency across all testing metrics. Waaree’s strong performance across these categories secured its position as a global leader in the 2025 report.
A key highlight in this year’s evaluation was LID (Light-Induced Degradation) resistance, which assesses how much power a solar module loses when first exposed to sunlight.
“RETC considers LID resistance a critical indicator of long-term field performance, requiring modules to exhibit less than or equal to 0.5% degradation in maximum power. Waaree was named among the top global performers— a testament to the superior cell technology and materials used in Waaree modules,” said Waaree Energies. “Waaree solar modules undergo rigorous evaluations to ensure high performance and durability, including exposure to extreme temperatures (-40°C to +85°C), 2,000 hours of humidity at 85°C/85% RH, and 192 hours of high-voltage stress. Advanced modelling further optimizes energy output under varying sunlight angles.”
