Gensol, an Ahmedabad-based solar advisory and EPC services provider, secured 55.8 MWp of ground-mount and rooftop solar projects in August.

Researchers led by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi have projected the waste expected from end-of-life solar panels and related components. They assumed 347.5 GW of total installed solar generation capacity would be reached this decade. The academics said the waste would include critical metals worth around $645 trillion, 70% of which could be recovered.

The Central Electronics Limited (CEL) seeks to empanel balance-of-system (BOS) suppliers for compact solar power packs ranging from 1 kWp to 5 kWp. The empaneled vendors shall also be responsible for installation and commissioning of the packs at four locations—in and around Pune, Chennai, Delhi National Capital Region and Sahibabad.

Bids are invited for supply, installation and commissioning of balance-of-system (BOS) items for NTPC’s 100 MW (AC) grid-connected floating solar plant in Telangana. Bidding closes on April 27.

Developers have until December 30 to bid for the grid-connected plants that shall come up on the land within or around the premises of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s substations. The plants are to be developed on turnkey basis.

The state-run power producer has invited solar developers and EPC contractors to enlist for balance-of-system package of its solar project. Applications can be submitted till October 3.

All India Solar Industries Association (AISIA) has urged the government to remove the Goods and Services Tax (GST) from the balance of systems for solar equipment. The association said that components like inverters, cables and transformers under GST are charged at 5-8%. Previously, they were charged 2% central sales tax and no excise duty.
