The developer has commissioned a 7.805 MW solar plant for Larsen & Toubro’s metro rail project in Hyderabad. Touted to be one of the largest behind-the-meter solar projects in India, the plant will supply electricity to the metro project’s 24 stations and two depots.

The floating solar capacity will come upon the reservoir of Manair Dam in Telangana and will be in addition to 300 MW PV plants being set up at the company areas. 

The floating restaurants and boats shall have on-board Li-ion battery storage to continuously power main motors and utility loads for six hours on a single charge. The batteries shall be charged by solar power and AC current from the shore to ensure the loads’ uninterrupted operation.

Bids are invited to install and commission various capacities (11-500 kWp) of grid-connected rooftop solar plants at individual households and residential buildings across the state. Bidding closes on November 25.

Telangana-based Novus Green has won two contracts from state-owned coal miner Singareni Collieries Company Limited, under which it will provide EPC services for two grid-interactive floating solar power plants with a combined capacity of 15 MW (AC).

The state-run hydropower producer is in talks with Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited to form a joint venture to explore and develop an aggregate 500 MW of floating solar power projects in the state.
