The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) marked its presence at India Energy Week 2026, India’s flagship energy exhibition and conference, with its Chief Executive Officer, Aditya Pyasi, participating as a panelist in a high-level leadership discussion on the future of India’s renewable energy ecosystem. He took part in the Leadership Spotlight Session titled “The Solar and Wind Opportunity: Realising the Dual Potential of Scaling India’s Renewables Outlook” at the Transition Stage, alongside senior leaders from across the global renewable energy value chain. The session focused on accelerating renewable capacity addition, strengthening domestic manufacturing, enabling grid readiness, and leveraging technology to support India’s clean energy ambitions.

Speaking at the session, Aditya Pyasi, CEO, IWTMA, said, “Energy Security has taken centre stage in the evolving world order, and Policy is India’s first line of defence in such a geo-political scenario. The Ministry of Renewable Energy has taken major policy decisions for the indigenisation of RE manufacturing even within the constraints of the existing Act & Policies. There is an increasing need to empower the Govt bodies to move further in the right direction and create an energy secure nation with a stable grid in an Atmanirbhar manner”

He further emphasised that India’s growing manufacturing base, combined with supportive policy frameworks and digitalisation, positions the country strongly within the global renewable supply chain. The industry is expeditiously collaborating with the EU and, thanks to the EU FTA continues its journey towards sustainable manufacturing.

India’s renewable energy journey cannot be driven by solar alone. Wind energy has a critical role to play in delivering balanced, round-the-clock clean power, improving grid stability, and optimising land and transmission infrastructure. As India scales up its renewable targets, policy certainty, timely grid expansion, and integration of storage solutions will be key to unlocking the full potential of wind–solar hybrid models.”

The panel discussion also highlighted India’s emergence as a renewable energy powerhouse, supported by declining technology costs, increased investment appetite, and ambitious national targets to significantly expand renewable capacity by 2030. Panelists explored how hybrid projects, energy storage, and advanced forecasting technologies can drive the next phase of renewable deployment at scale.

India Energy Week 2026, organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and jointly hosted by FIPI and dmg events, brings together policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators from across the globe to shape pathways towards a secure, resilient, and sustainable energy future.

IWTMA’s participation at the forum reinforces its commitment to advancing wind energy adoption, strengthening domestic manufacturing, and contributing meaningfully to policy dialogue supporting India’s long-term decarbonisation and energy security goals.
