Godrej & Boyce boosts the energy sector by commissioning Mumbai’s First 400kV GIS Substation

Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group announced that its business Godrej Electricals & Electronics, is focusing on contributing to India’s growing modern power infrastructure. The business has completed projects ranging from 132kV to 765kV and their current order bank stands at over 1700Cr in the substation segment.

The business commissioned eight substations in FY24, including the prestigious 400kV GIS vertical substation in Mumbai. This project adds a substantial 1500MVA to the city’s energy capacity, addressing the escalating demand for power. By providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy infrastructure in metro cities, challenging terrains of North East states & Jammu, and regional hubs like Khavda in Gujarat. Godrej Electricals & Electronics is shaping the future of high-capacity, cutting-edge substation projects while addressing the power challenges of the country.

Earlier this month, Godrej & Boyce released a statement on the budget echoing the sentiments of the government on focussing on sustainability through capacity enhancements in renewable energy among other measures. Godrej Electricals & Electronics is partnering with private sector players to engage in diverse substation and renewable energy projects across India.
