The Delhi-based end-to-end rooftop solar company is looking to eventually raise Rs 250 crore ($35 million) as it plans to improve its technology infrastructure further, scale up the service offerings, and expand to newer geographies, including parts of Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa.

The EPC provider has won an aggregate 13.2 MWp solar capacity from State-owned Central Electronics Limited, in addition to projects from Gas Authority of India Limited, Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Reserve Bank of India.

The rooftop solar sector will see reduced installation activity even after lifting of the lockdown as consumers continue to deal with financial constraints. Small-size developers may also lack the financial strength to meet additional working requirements.

April 10 is the last date to submit technical bids for installation and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems with battery backup at State Bank of India’s branches, offices and residences in Chandigarh region.

Developers are also expected to drag their heels over project completion during the first half of the year as the safeguarding duty applied to imported Chinese and Malaysian solar products is due to expire at the end of July.

With Rs 118.27 crore in the current financial till February 10, Gujarat is way ahead among all states and union territories in getting the central financial support for new and renewable energy generation.
