Floating Solar

The second-part 300 MW capacity of the Omkareshwar floating solar project has attracted 1 GW of bids from seven developers. NHDC, SJVN and Tata Power Solar bid for 200 MW each. Eden Renewables, Hinduja, Mahindra Susten, and NTPC quoted for 100 MW each. 

The Indian multinational EPC provider has secured significant transmission lines and substations projects in Saudi Arabia.

The state-owned hydropower producer won the 105 MW floating solar project at a tariff of INR 3.93 ($0.047)/kWh, in a competitive auction conducted by Maharashtra State Power Generation Co.

SJVN’s green energy arm and Assam Power Distribution Co. Ltd have agreed to develop 1 GW of floating solar project in Assam through a joint venture.

Chandigarh-based Hartek Solar has secured an order to construct a 2 MW floating solar plant at a water reservoir in Chandigarh that supplies water to the entire Chandigarh city.

Tata Power Solar has secured an engineering, procurement and construction contract for a 125 MWp floating solar project at the Omkareshwar reservoir in Madhya Pradesh. The project was awarded by state-owned hydropower producer NHDC.

SJVN, a state-owned hydropower producer, has started accepting bids to set up a 15 MW (AC) floating solar plant in Himachal Pradesh. It is also seeking EPC contractors for a 100 MW (AC) grid-connected, ground-mount PV project in Punjab. 

Renewables developer Amp Energy India will develop a floating solar project on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis and supply the electricity over a period of 25 years under a fixed tariff.

SJVN, NHDC Ltd, and AMP Energy have signed power purchase agreements for a cumulative 278 MW of the 600 MW floating solar project.

Saatvik has supplied 62 MW of solar modules to NTPC’s 100 MW (AC) Ramagundam floating solar project.
