Coal India arm tenders 20 MW solar plant in Jharkhand

Bidders have until April 29 to lodge their interest to install and commission a 20 MW ground-mounted solar project for Central Coalfield Limited (CCL). The plant shall come up at CCL’s coal handling and preparation plant in Piparwar village. Solar cells and modules of any origin are allowed for the project.

German start-up develops anti-reflective film claimed to improve PV module performance by 10%

German start-up Phytonics has developed the film by taking inspiration from nanostructures in plants. In solar cells, the film enables a broader absorption spectrum and a higher angle of light-incidence tolerance.

NTPC commissions 70 MW of Bilhaur Solar PV project

The state-run power producer, which already has a 140 MW solar project operational at Bilhaur in Uttar Pradesh, has announced part commissioning of a second PV project in the town.

India gets first community energy storage connected to grid

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited has installed a 150 kW/528 kWh battery energy storage system at Ranibagh Substation in New Delhi. The system will support the utility in managing the peak load, voltage regulation, power factor improvement, frequency regulation, and deviation settlement mechanism at the substation level. Besides, it will provide a power backup of 150 kW for 4 hours duration to preferential consumers in case of a grid outage.

Coal India tenders 100 MW solar EPC work in Gujarat

Bidders have until April 15 to lodge their interest in the grid-connected solar project, which must be commissioned within a year from the award of contract. Operation and maintenance of the plant for five years also falls under the bidder’s scope.
