Aroma Solar launches 1.2 GW fully automated module manufacturing facility in North India

Aroma Solar, the renewable energy arm of agricultural exporter Aroma Agrotech, has commenced operations at its 1.2 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Karnal. The plant is claimed to be North India’s first fully automated, AI-driven production line built on TOPCon technology.

The facility has begun production of TOPCon modules rated at 620 to 635 W with 23.51% efficiency. It employs robotic automation combined with AI-based quality verification to standardize cell placement and lamination—two manufacturing stages where defects frequently emerge years after installation. The company said this approach moves past conventional assembly methods, engineering each module for long-term field performance rather than maximizing production volume alone.

Mayank Garg, CEO of Aroma Solar, stated, “India’s solar sector is entering a phase where quality is the core. To deliver that quality, we have installed North India’s first fully automated line from a Chinese equipment supplier SC and are sourcing exclusively Tier-1 raw materials. By combining the precision of artificial intelligence with the critical oversight of human expertise, we ensure absolute consistency in every module.”

Following this 1.2 GW launch, Aroma Solar has begun planning its next phase of capacity expansion focused on precision manufacturing. To strengthen supply chain control and increase vertical integration, the company is evaluating entry into solar cell and wafer production.
