Advait Energy begins work on 50 MW/100 MWh BESS project for GUVNL
Advait Energy Transitions has commenced execution of a 50 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). It had secured the project under GUVNL’s Phase IV BESS tender on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis.
Advait Energy Transitions has commenced execution of a 50 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL).
The bhoomi poojan ceremony for the project was recently held at the Radhanpur substation in Gujarat. Advait secured the project under GUVNL’s Phase IV BESS tender on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. The system will be made available to GUVNL for charging and discharging on an on-demand basis.
The project is scheduled for commissioning in the third quarter of fiscal year 2026-27 (Q3 FY27). It entails an investment of approximately INR 141 crore and carries a concession period of 12 years.
Incorporated in 2010, Advait Energy Transitions operates in the power transmission and energy transition sectors. In the renewable energy segment, the company is setting up a 300 MW greenfield manufacturing facility for indigenous electrolysers, a 2.5 GWh BESS manufacturing facility, and an assembly line for advanced fuel cell technology.
The company also executes solar projects on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis. With the GUVNL project, it has entered the BESS project development segment and is targeting 1 GW of BESS project portfolio over the next five years.
