Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) has concluded its tender for 335 MW/670 MWh of standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity, discovering a tariff of INR 2.10 lakh/MW/month.

Advait Energy Transitions Ltd secured 150 MW by quoting the lowest tariff of INR 2.10 lakh/MW/month. Equentia Natural Resources Pte Ltd was allocated 65 MW and Sundrops Energia 120 MW, each at INR 2.12 lakh/MW/month.

The projects are eligible for viability gap funding (VGF) under the scheme.

The selected developers will set up the BESS projects in Gujarat on a build-own-operate basis, with connectivity to the intrastate transmission system. The storage capacity will be made available to GUVNL on an on-demand basis for charging and discharging, in line with the requirements of the state distribution companies (DISCOMs) during peak and off-peak hours.

Each project must provide two operational cycles per day, equivalent to two full charge-discharge cycles daily.
