AMPIN Energy Transition has secured 199 MW of capacity in Solar Energy Corp. of India’s (SECI) FDRE VII assured peak power tender.
Launched last year, the SECI tender sought bids to develop 1.2 GW of renewable energy projects coupled with energy storage systems to deliver 4.8 GWh (1,200 MW × four hours) of assured daily peak power.
To meet the peak-hour supply requirement, AMPIN will pair the contracted 199 MW solar capacity with around 800 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).
The project is expected to generate around 300 million units of renewable energy annually and offset more than 270,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
With this award, AMPIN’s utility-scale renewable energy portfolio has reached 3.5 GWp, along with 2.5 GWh of storage capacity, backed by diversified, highly rated offtakers.
