NLC India Ltd has secured a 600 MW solar project coupled with a 300 MW/1,800 MWh energy storage system (ESS) from the Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI). The company said its wholly owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL), has received a letter of award for the project.
The capacity was awarded at a tariff of INR 3.12/kWh through competitive bidding under SECI’s tender for 1.2 GW of solar capacity coupled with 600 MW/3,600 MWh of ESS.
Power from the project will be supplied under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to be signed with SECI. SECI will act as an intermediary nodal agency, selling the electricity to various buying entities across India through back-to-back arrangements.
The scheduled commencement of supply date for the full project capacity is 24 months from the effective date of the PPA.
