GH2 Solar Ltd will establish a green hydrogen electrolyzer manufacturing facility in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, through a joint venture with South Korea-based Advanced Hydrogen Energy Solutions (AHES) Ltd.
The upcoming facility, located in Piparsewa, Morena district, will initially have an annual manufacturing capacity of 105 MW of electrolyzers. The project is supported by a Production Linked Incentive (PLI) subsidy of INR 157.5 crore, awarded under SECI’s SIGHT program.
The total investment is planned at around INR 400 crore, which includes scaling up the electrolyzer production capacity to 500 MW by 2030 and the development of a 3 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) assembly line.
Through this joint venture, GH2 Solar brings AHES Ltd’s advanced alkaline electrolyzer technology to India and plans to expand into PEM and other hydrogen generation systems in the future. GH2 Solar has also partnered with UK-based Rhizome Energy to integrate sustainable design principles and advanced engineering practices.
Once operational, the facility is expected to generate over 300 direct jobs in manufacturing, operations, and research, as well as hundreds of indirect jobs across the supply chain, logistics, and renewable energy services.
GH2 Solar has delivered over 650 solar projects for more than 325 clients nationwide. It is one of only five companies in India selected under the Government’s PLI scheme for green hydrogen production and electrolyzer manufacturing.
