JSW Energy announced that its subsidiary, JSW Neo Energy, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) to supply 230 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) from interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected projects across India.
The project was awarded under SECI’s FDRE Tranche IV scheme and marks JSW’s first PPA for an FDRE project. Power will be supplied at a tariff of INR 4.98/kWh for a period of 25 years.
This development follows closely on the heels of JSW Renew Energy Forty Five, another arm of JSW Energy, securing a 25-year PPA with Bangalore Electricity Supply Co. (BESCOM) for a 100 MW grid-connected solar project with a 100 MWh battery energy storage system. The project will be developed at a designated site and connected to the 220/400 kV KPTCL Firozabad substation in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi district, at a tariff of INR 4.31/kWh.
