ACME Solar Holdings, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, has secured battery energy storage purchase agreements (BESPA) with NHPC for a total contracted capacity of 275 MW/550 MWh across two standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Andhra Pradesh. It secured 50 MW/100 MWh at a tariff of INR  2,10,000/MW/month and 225 MW/450 MWh at INR 2,22,000/MW/month through e-reverse auction held on June 24, 2025.

These projects are eligible for viability gap funding (VGF) under the Government of India’s scheme, which provides financial support of INR 27 lakh per MWh or 30% of the total project cost, whichever is lower.

Letter of Award (LOA) for these projects were handed over on July 8, 2025. “The quick transition from LOA into signing of the BESPA can be attributed to the prior identification of customer as Andhra Pradesh,” stated ACME Solar. “As the standalone BESS installation will be established at the customer site wherein land and evacuation infrastructure will be provided by the customer, it should expedite the execution of these projects.”

The projects are scheduled for commissioning within 18 months from signing of the BESPA.

ACME Solar Holdings is an integrated renewable energy player with a diversified portfolio of 6,970 MW and 550 MWh spanning solar, wind, storage, FDRE and hybrid solutions. It has 2,890 MW operational capacity with another 4,080 MW in various stages of implementation.
