Oriana Power, through its subsidiary Truere Knight Pvt Ltd, has signed a 12-year battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL) for 50 MW/100 MWh of standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Rajasthan.

The grid-scale BESS will be deployed at the Heerapura, Jaipur Sub-Station on a build-own-operate basis, with viability gap funding (VGF) support of approximately INR 27 crore. The system will offer two charge-discharge cycles per day for on-demand usage and is scheduled for commissioning within 18 months of BESPA execution. The project is expected to generate total revenue of INR 188.61 crore over the 12-year contract period.

In a separate development, Oriana Power has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVN) to set up a 125 MW/250 MWh standalone BESS at the Giral Sub-Station in Rajasthan. This project, also based on a build-own-operate model, will be supported by an estimated VGF of INR 67.50 crore and will similarly offer two daily charge-discharge cycles for on-demand usage.
