JSW Energy commissions 189 MW solar and 72 MW wind power capacity

JSW Energy Ltd has announced the successful commissioning of 261 MW of renewable energy (RE) capacity, comprising 189 MW of solar and 72 MW of wind projects. With this addition, the company’s total capacity addition for Q1 FY26 stands at 1.9 GW, including both organic and inorganic growth.

JSW Energy’s total installed power capacity has increased to 12,760 MW. The share of renewables in the overall portfolio has risen to 56%, consisting of 3,554 MW of wind, 2,157 MW of solar, and 1,391 MW of hydro capacity.

“This capacity addition is timely and will allow the company to capitalize on the peak renewable generation season, contributing meaningfully to the overall renewable energy output,” JSW Energy stated.

JSW Energy now has a total locked-in generation capacity of 29.9 GW—comprising 12.8 GW operational, 12.5 GW under construction across thermal, wind, solar, and hydro segments, and 4.6 GW in the pipeline. Additionally, the company has secured 29.3 GWh of energy storage capacity through 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro storage and 2.9 GWh of battery energy storage systems.

The company targets 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by FY 2030.
