Hindustan Power has commenced work on its 435 MWp solar power project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, with the establishment of the project office. The company secured the project through tariff-based competitive bidding under the 2,000 MW AC grid-connected solar PV auction conducted by Uttar Pradesh Power Corp. Ltd (UPPCL).
As per the power purchase agreement (PPA), UPPCL will procure power from this solar project at a fixed tariff over a 25-year period. The project is expected to achieve commissioning within 24 months from the date of signing the PPA.
This 435 MWp solar project is a big step forward for Uttar Pradesh, supporting the state’s goal of reaching 22 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2026–27. Beyond providing green energy, this initiative will create new jobs and help drive sustainable growth in the local community.
“With the Lalitpur project office now open, our teams are eager to start, and we look forward to working with the local community as we move ahead with this solar initiative,” said Ratul Puri, chairman, Hindustan Power.
With the project office operational, Hindustan Power will begin mobilization activities, including site development, workforce engagement, and coordination with stakeholders.
Hindustan Power is an integrated power generation company in India with a focus on renewable and transitional energy generation. It aims to achieve a 5 GW renewable energy portfolio by 2028.
