Narada Power secures 1.4 GWh energy storage order in India

China-headquartered Narada Power announced this week it has secured an order from a leading private-sector power producer in India to supply a 1.4 GWh energy storage system for a major solar PV project in the country.

The project is located in a tropical region with extreme summer heat, requiring a storage system with exceptional heat dissipation and long-term operational stability. To meet these needs, Narada will provide its liquid-cooled energy storage system featuring a multi-stage, variable-diameter liquid cooling pipeline that ensures uniform temperature distribution and significantly improves cooling efficiency.

The system also includes a dual liquid cooling system backup, enabling uninterrupted operation even if one unit fails.

“For the project’s high-temperature environment, Narada has optimised the electrochemical architecture, structure, and manufacturing processes of battery cells. Through innovative application of SNS low heat generation technology, the system substantially reduces operational temperature rise and achieves systematic internal heat control—particularly suited for high-rate charging/discharging scenarios,” stated Narada.

The system integrates Narada’s self-developed and manufactured energy storage BMS. Its critical components meet automotive-grade reliability standards, delivering high precision and superior high-temperature performance. This enables effective active balancing during operation, significantly improving system consistency.

Furthermore, IP67 rated components and multi-layered safety designs ensure the system withstands high temperatures and sandstorms.
