Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated power companies, has posted its highest ever annual revenue of INR 64,502 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2025. Profit after tax (PAT) for full year rose 26% to INR 5,197 crore, crossing the milestone of INR 5,000 crore mark for the first time. EBITDA for the year also rose to a record level of INR 14,468 crore, up 14%.
The company reported PAT of INR 1,306 crore (up 25% YoY) and revenue of INR 17,328 crore (up 7% YoY) for the fourth quarter of FY 2025. EBITDA for Q4 FY25 rose 14% to INR 3,829 crore on the back of strong performance across the core businesses comprising generation, T&D, and renewables.
Tata Power attributed the overall growth primarily to higher power sales from all generating plants, ramp-up of all solar module and cell lines in Tirunelveli, and significant strides in solar rooftop business pan-India (achieving 1.5 lakh installation milestone).
Renewables business PAT grew 62% to INR 469 crore in Q4 FY25 and by 48% to INR 1,256 crore for FY25. Rooftop solar segment hit INR 100 crore PAT milestone during Q4 FY25 and INR 209 crore in FY25.
Solar manufacturing emerged as a major growth contributor as TP Solar reported an INR 422 crore PAT in FY25. TP Solar achieved a revenue of INR 5,337crore with production of 3,291 MW of modules and 846 MW of cells in FY25.
“FY 2025 has been a remarkable year for Tata Power, with the company achieving a record-breaking PAT exceeding INR 5000 crore, driven by exceptional contributions across all our business segments,” said Praveer Sinha, CEO and managing director, Tata Power.
“Q4FY25 marks 22nd consecutive quarter of PAT growth, highlighted by several significant milestones. For the first time, we surpassed 1 GW in renewable capacity additions within a single year and are now targeting 2 GW in FY26. Our rooftop solar business has performed impressively, reaching over 1.5 lakh installations, with a total installed capacity of 3 GW. Our Distribution segment also delivered strong results, with PAT from Odisha Discoms surging 3x in Q4FY25 and 43 % in FY25.”
In FY25, Tata Power commissioned over 2.5 GW of renewable capacity—comprising 1 GW of in-house utility-scale projects, 600 MW of rooftop solar, and 900 MW for third-party customers. The company has nearly 3 GW capacity under development across states like Karnataka and Maharashtra. It has secured over 6,800 MW of grid connectivity, and has acquired more than 30,000 acres of land for setting up the ongoing 5.4 MW of projects in pipeline.
